Dans Le Noir

Dans Le Noir by Mr Hyde.
"Dans Le Noir is a restaurant and bar where you eat your food in total, utter and complete darkness. Not dimly lit; not just with the lights out; but in a blackout. You might as well close your eyes for all the use they are."
review

Haven't been, but now I know where it is.

wow. I wonder if the kitchen is in the dark too. Do the servers use infrared?

Hmm... I would be intensely suspicious of ANYWHERE that wouldn't let me see the food :D

(but then maybe I watched Minority Report too many times for eating unseen to appeal... *shudder*)

I think the idea of eating in the dark is to heighten the senses of taste and texture. But the whole trust thing would have to be pretty high. :)

You could get into some serious naughtiness in a pitch-black restaurant. Hey you can get into some serious naughtiness in a well-light restaurant... that's why I wondered about using infrared to keep people in check.

They have infrared cameras monitoring the dining area, but you really can't see a thing in there. Very strange experiemce, sould be even better if the food was any good, but to be honest it was mediocre and in tiny portions. If they hadn't forgotten to charge us for the second bottle of wine (after we'd poured most of the first over the table), I'd have been even more pissed off with the place.

That's a shame. I almost fancy it just for the experience.
