Before I went to Japan I wanted to prepare as good as possible for the flying Owls pictures I was supposed to shoot there. As flying Owls are not particularly readily available in Holland I asked a Falconer nearby if I could attend the daily training of his birds at a Park in Enschede. After explaining the purpose of my practice, the Falconer did his very best to fly the owls in a way I was hoping to capture them later in Japan. Mr. Poliste, thank you again for your very enthusiastic co-operation!
Besides the Owl practice, one of the hardest things to capture was the flight of the Falcons. These magnificent birds fly at a speed of over 300 km/hour! Dizzy from trying to follow this beautiful animal in flight I was really grateful when, in the end, he captured the lure, took it to the ground and received it as reward.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
