Impala were all over Tanda Tula and Mala Mala. As they are the main prey of all of the big cats, Lions, Leopards and Cheetahs, they seek safety in numbers. During our stay a lot of young Impala were born. Só cute. Unfortunately they are not yet as fast and agile as the adults are and we saw a lot of newborn Impala that didn’t live to see the next day.
Only once in a while you’ll come across an Impala on his own, but mostly you see vast herds of them. Once attacked, their best defense is to make a run for it. Or rather make a jump for it. Below I pasted a series of pictures together to show the incredible jumping power they have..

These are both amazing shots, the first captures so well, the action, colour and noise and the second, well my word..how blooming marvelous! Can I ask how you captured all the shots so perfectly to be able to then paste together? Must have been fun to process and to achieve such a brilliant result. They jump so high and fast, and your photograph shows it all in such glorious detail....perfection indeed!

I think I have mentioned it before, but the use of those orange tones on your Africa shots is so beautifully metaphoric. They epitomise the great swathes of orange earth you find there and used in conjunction with the wildlife you are shooting I cant think of a more appropriate atmosphere enhancer.

Action all the way. The moment is perfect and really does reflect the danger is not only from the cats….male pride is a curious and deadly thing too!!!!

You caught it all….the dust flying…the stag in mid-air fighting with all his might. The locking of horns. Glorious Hennie.

Then, when you think we are done, you hit us with the second shot. I can only shake my head in admiration at that one.
