Winking Winchat

Newer Older

Last weekend I was out on a birding trip to Terschelling, one of the islands in the north. The weather was every bit as awful as predicted, and worse. A very good opportunity to see if the camera and lens really were water-, sand- and salt spray proof!
(which they are :-)).

The trip was organized by a Dutch bird photography website, www.birdpix.nl/portal.php. When one of my fellow-Flickrites heard I was going with them, he wished me ‘good luck with the bird-nerds’ :-).
But to be honest, it was marvelous. Those bird-nerds turned out to be enthusiastic, knowledgeable and skilled birders/photographers. Check out their site to see for yourself. I'm quite sure you'll be impressed by the quality of the uploaded work. Picked up some very good tips and tricks about bird photography and learned a lot about birds!

I love both pics. Sounds like it was an awesome trip...although damp. I am reluctant to use my expensive camera & lenses at the coast...the salt air is horrid. Not to mention the blowing bits of sand. Yikes. I love the shot of YOU. Faved.

    Beautiful capture.

That pic of you and your photo gear, looks like a giant holding up the space shuttle and looking through the window at the occupants. :-)
