My new favorite picture ever!

I'm sure it's hard sometime to figure out exactly what it is you see in some of my shots. I like to give a little background on ones like this. Here the throwing lip of a hollow breaking wave shoots right over the top of me. My camera is pointed straight up at the sky. One of the neat things about shooting with a water housing is that you just point it where you want to shot, you don't look through the viewfinder. That means that you see with your eyes everything going on around you! This is total involvement in photography. With all the digital cameras these days, this is still a rare and tough to get shot that requires special equipment and a special set of skills. I've put in over 40 years working toward this shot. All the time spent in and around the ocean has brought me here to this point in my life. As much as I wish I could share these images with the whole world (and maybe make some money?), I'm happy and honored to share with the few people who look at my photos on flickr.

With the invention of the new gopro hd point & shoot cameras, capturing images like this has never been easier. I, however, shoot these with a Canon 7D. Still, the quality you get from a DSLR camera, when done right, surpasses anything you get from a point & shoot . You want this shot on canvas at 40x30 for your bedroom? No problem!
