Firefox Your Too High Maintenance

Wish Firefox just browsed and didn't update all the time. Seems that's all it does and then after updating, it wants me to update again.

HMM. You should be on Firefox 3.6

Point is, if it's self updated every time I launch, just self update to the next rev.

I lost some plug ins when I went to 3.6 so I'm back to 3.5.7

Version 3.5.7 is about a once-monthly update since the end of June, when 3.5.0 came out.

Macs have to reboot that often just for general updates... like Safari.

Updates are frequent on firefox because it is such a widely used program now, so they have entered the realm of virtual-world battle: them versus the hackers. Rogue programmers are constantly finding (and even creating) exploits in the source code and firefox is constantly trying to plug them. I would say that they are still WAY better at it than MS Internet Explorer.
My recommendation: give google Chrome a try. I have become a big fan after using it on my Linux machine for the last few months and my windows machine since its release.

      ...just my $0.02.
