Okaypro beats the title!

Okaypro beats the title! by Hryck..
I was going to go with "Double Down" or something like that, but before I make it to that point, Okaypro snipes me. She's a quick one . . .

Where'd you get such a tiny little feller? I love how his elbow rests perfectly on that chip.

You know what cheers me up? Rolled up aces over kings. Check-raising stupid tourists and taking huge pots off of them. Playing all-night high-limit Hold'em at the Taj, "where the sand turns to gold." Stacks and towers of checks I can't even see over.

Is this a statement about how slot machine revenues are going to save the world? Interesting, devilish image.

"God does not play dice with the universe; He plays an ineffable game of his own devising, which might be compared, from the perspective of any of the other players, to being involved in an obscure and complex version of poker in a pitch dark room, with blank cards, for infinite stakes, with a dealer who won't tell you the rules, and who smiles all the time."

Chuck just made me re-read "Good Omens." The best part is that now I get the jokes about Manchester.

There's a book out called Are You A Geek?, and I had to pick myself up a copy. It reads like a giant test, but I don't think you're really meant to take the test, although I'm sure if you're a true geek, you will. There are one thousand questions, and they're all really pretty funny.

For instance, You've annoyed people in your train by snorting with laughter at a Terry Pratchett novel will get you 3 points.

You've then annoyed them even more by muttering to yourself "Genius, thy name is Pratchett." gets you 5 points.

I've never read any Pratchett.

Anyhow, I've even toyed with starting a group here on Flickr, where you take the test, post a photo of yourself with the book, and announce your score to the world.

elston, start with any of the City Watch books or Going Postal. Guy may not have much variation with plot, but he is a comedic genius.
