"White Rabbit" by Jefferson Starship/Airplane
or

My favorite song is Complicated:

Sorrow is an angel that comes to you in blue light
and shows you what is wrong just to see if you'll set it right
and I've fucked up so many times in my life --
that I want to get it right this time.

I can't say I have a favorite song, as it changes with mood and all that. However, the live version of Eh-Hee by Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds is most definitely one of them.

I think in the past few days I've listened to Wonderboy by Tenacious D 50 or so times... not sure if that counts as a favorite, but it's been constantly stuck in my head. As for favorite song it really depends on my mood.
The Mariner's Revenge Song by The Decemberists and I Hung My Head by Sting are up there.

My favorite song last year was Wilco's Impossible Germany performed on Austin City Limits. I like it better than the CD version. See it at www.wilcoworld.net/acl/

that's a difficult one... some thoughts of the moment

Louxor j'adore last year's buzz in france, the clip is awsome, and the music cheers me up

Carey - Joni Mitchell. This song is special for me because it speaks of the town where I've been living this summer... The music is beautiful and the lyrics are saying it all...

Ma belle etoile from M. My favorite song of one of my favorite french artists...

don't get me started, that's all for now.

Wow, the green tinted record looks a little like the cover of Spoon's "Girls Can Tell", but from a different angle.

Best song from last year? Probably Bookshop Cassanova by the Clientele

way to difficult to choose but one...

hmmm... The Stranglers - Skin Deep; Chilly Gonzales - Let's Groove Again; Kraftwerk - Autobahn; Zazu - Captain Stardust; Caroline Loeb - La Quate; Datarock - I used to dance with my daddy; Sebastian Tellier - Le long....; Talking Heads - Once in a lifetime; Donna Summer - State of Independence; George Clinton (parl/Funk) - Erotic City; The Fall - Paintwork; Nouvelle Vague - Guns of Brixton... (ok so these would be in the top 100 - today, that is - i'm going to stop now)

Hellabella: happy to see someone else likes State of independence. the original best of J & V version is still a standout, but this version is also just sublime: Mood Swings - spiritual high segment of State of independence featuring cvhrissie hynde

Todd, i love venues like this. Play on. I request:
Voices or whaddya say we just pop the top on a nice single village mezcal and spin Pepe & The Bottle Blondes - Late night Betty - start with Rhumba de 5 Kilos and then just cut up a lime, get the salt shaker & play the rest

42n81 - right back at ya! Love the Chrissie Hynde version too.... (it's only a guess, but you might like Magnet - Lay Lady Lay, (if you don't know it already))

Absolute most favorite song: Moondance/Van Morrison. beyond that I guess it depends on the era and my mood at that moment. Good thing I have lots of records to choose from!

Like pretty much everyone on here, it changes all the time. The one I keep coming back to though, is "Lieutenant", by The Stubborn All Stars. A great, beautiful song by an underrecognized band.

i have a hard time picking one favorite.
but there ARE songs I never tire of, that I could listen to at any point and be like "yeah, that one is ace."
paul and I had a moment like that recently, but i can't remember what the song was!
