Don't Wanna Be On Top of Your List
When I was in Russia, I was pretty separated from American culture. None of the volunteers had cable, few had more than a working channel. I had the internet, but that was only when the phone lines weren't cut and sold for scrap. As a result, the only contact I had with what was going on in America were the complimentary issues of Newsweek that the Peace Corps supplied us with, and what my Russian friends told me was popular. This last part wasn't especially reliable, since many were convinced that Americans dance on their tables whenever Elvis comes on the radio. Uploaded on Jul 12, 2009 Kind of an interesting choice
The guy that wrote this wrote it on the ground under the bus way. He (and I have no good reason for making the writer a "he") is scared for the safety of his sister. She's dating a violent guy, and he's scared for her. He's scared that she'll meet her end at his fists. He's scared each time he sees his sister will be the last time. He wrote this letter to her explaining his fears, and that she will see the light of day and leave this terrible man, this man who might love her to death.
