aluminum tackle box
This is an old aluminum fishing tackle box. It is probably almost 60years old. Sometime about 1950, someone came up with a process that puts color into aluminum. It was called 'anodized," and it made aluminum a decorative color. In this cases, it's gold color, but there was also green, red, yellow, blue and just about any thing else in the spectrum. You don't see it much anymore, so most items made from, or decorated with, anodized aluminum are probably antiques.
This opens up to about four feet wide with seven trays. I thought this was in my photostream, but a search failed to find it, so I went back to my picture files and pulled this out. It's for my new group, "ALUMINUM, aluminium" I added to second spelling for folks in the UK. Would you like to comment?Sign up for a free account, or sign in (if you're already a member). |
