My advice is firstly to definately get one. It makes taking pictures a lot more fun as long as you can stand the agonising wait to get you shots back from the lab. It's heavy but has great balance and being able to switch from Av to Tv is a nice feature on these older models. For colour use Kodak Ektar 100 film, for BW there are lots of good choices; Fuji Neopan is my favourite. And find a lab that processes how you like - try a few. You should find that you spend all your time lining up and choosing your shots carefully rather than processing them on your pc afterwards.
