The North Borneo Railway is the oldest running steam train in Sabah and Borneo.This train passes through villages and coastal towns, paddy fields, rainforests and plantations of rubber and coffee, a ride on North Borneo Railway is truly a journey of rediscovery into the heart of Borneo!

Some facts you must know about the railway:
1. The railway was build by the British during the colonization era at Borneo.
2. It was established by the British on the year 1896
3. The original railway ranges across Sabah, from Kota Kinabalu Tanjung Aru train station to the inner lands of Tenom town. Other tracks also went over to Weston.
4. The locomotive was preserved and it is still used today!

The Crocker range separates the east coast and west coast of Sabah. At an average height of 1800m, it is the highest mountain range in Sabah. Mount Kinabalu,which was Malaysia's highest mountain, sits within these ranges :)

Some information you should know about this mountain!
1. It was called "The mountain of God" (神山) among the local Chinese.
2. I was also called "Aki-Nabalu" literally means the place where the soul rests by the local Kadasan-Dusun people.
3. Mount Kinabalu- along with the Kinabalu National park was listed as Malaysia's 1st World Heritage site by the year 2000.
4. the capital city of Sabah, Kota Kinabalu was named after this mountain!
