JESTER
|
Jester - Male
AKA - "Dester"
Born late 2004
Came home with me after a visit to the local feed store where he was in a cage waiting to be adopted.
Little did we know. . .
3.14.06
This is only ONE of the FOUR birds Jester has brought me in the pastTHREE days.
I kicked him outside with this ONE, wasn't so quick on the other THREE.
Have you ever tried to clean up bird feathers on a wood floor?
The ti raid begins in earnest:
4.5.06
Good news. Jester is now wearing a bell, day 2 and no birds B U T now he is bringing home bats (2 tonight) and letting them go!
4.6.06
Bad news, Jester has ditched his collar (2nd one) somewhere on the property.
-note to self- must make/buy new collar quickly.
4.7.06
Jester sailed out of the bushes and plucked an unsuspecting quail right off of his perch. I raced him to the kitty door & met him as he was bringing it in...I promptly made him spit the poor guy out and the quail took off. Jester was mad but seems to have recovered as he is now asleep tight by my side ;-)
4.9.06
A bat didn't make it, found dead in the tunnel this morning...
4.14.06
Found dead aligator lizard at kitty door -ON THE INSIDE-
Woke up to Jester torturing another larger, now tailess aligator lizard, by pouncing up & down on the poor thing while he was trying to hide under the tunnel . I was able to rescue him & let him go outside when Jester wasn't looking.
4.15.06
Found a dead bat on the floor, carefully hidden behind the clothes hamper in the bathroom today...Jester swears it wasn't him-but I know better.
April was a bad month for the wildlife around our house. . .
there has been more in the middle. . .I just quit counting~
02.2007 brings in a nice little mouse to bat around early in the morning
07.14.2007 we wake up to a pile of feathers on the kitchen floor-no one claims them. . .we believe it's Jester
10.15.07
i buy the boy a new bell collar
10.16.07
it's 630am and i hear the jingle jingle of jester's collar and the dreaded familiar meow that means a catch has been made.
he trots upstairs and lets loose a live bat!!!! the little jerk!!
i spend the next hour trying to shoo the poor thing out the upstairs balcony door. jester just watched and intermittently chewed on his bell.
NOTE: May 2009
After 2 years of not eating at our house, and all of our foster animals around the property the past two months....Jester finally decided to move on....I would not be surprised if he has been/continues to feed at the local free roaming colony - we wish him well and hope to see him again soon - it's been weeks since he paid us a visit - I do miss his happy face, I'm sorry he feels so slighted.
