Just another balloon flight. But the clouds were unusually scenic today. Fast winds above, 20mph+ but slow for takeoff and landing. Quail to Rancho Bernardo (4S) Fruit Stand, 12.4 miles, 1hr. 15 min

But I improved the final version published photo with a better crop and better enhancement to bring out color, contrast, detail, etc. One of these days I will replace this original version wth the published one.
autopaatti, Danihamms, Londemoon, quartz daum, and 7 other people added this photo to their favorites.

Thanks for the scout report Joe, I'm glad you're on the watch. And thanks for the good news!! I feel proud, I couldn't have done it without your support and influence. Although it almost doesn't seem appropriate to say so. Now that I am a flickr addict, when I fly, all I care about is gettin good photos. And on yesterday's flight I did it, yes!!

Miguel Felicitaciones de nuevo! la foto es genial!
The same happens to me... I hang out with friends and I stare at things, details, objects, trying to find something worth it for a picture. Today my friends said "You are so strange and quiet, you're not listening to what we're saying... what is it? are you IN LOVE?" LOL

Hey friends, 'clubgomes' above is my sister in NY. She isn't too active on flickr... well... she isn't active at all, this is the only comment she ever made. But she has a Nikon D50 and a new imac G5 so she has potential.
Hey Patti, we hope to see more of you, please come back to visit again, stop by and check out my friends' photos and post some of yours too.

That is really beautiful. I guess your airspace there is uncluttered? What area is that? I'd like to see a sectional chart for there... must be great!
ms4jah 87 months ago | reply
Hi Paulena, great to see you here, thanks for the comment. Airspace clutter not a problem. It is uncontrolled where we are- every man for himself so to speak. But we always see other stuff flying, this is coastal Southern Califonia. The clouds were broken, I never had to go thru clouds.

Great one. I wonder if you dared go through the clouds, but after looking at the photo (and the comments), I think I can guess the hole in the cloud under you :D

Very nice! How high do you fly/soar/go? (& which is the correct verb for ballooning?)
ms4jah 84 months ago | reply
We fly, we don't soar. A hot air balloon is an aircraft just like a helicopter, jet, glider, blimp or crop duster is an aircraft. I have been as high as 10,000 feet in my area. We don't go above 5,000 too often, typically 2 or 3000 but much of the flight we do very low at the surface at bush-top or roof-top or tree-top level.
