AGONIES OF A NATION- IN PROGRESS
dedicated to my very special friend Tatiana Cardeal
I'm not going to write the story of Afghan's agonies.
I've tried to tell the story through my images.
The shots are taken in Golshahr, a place located in Mashhad
city- where I've been living since 1973.
The shots represents them as a settled refugees communuity
in my city.
Millions of them have been living here during past decades,
having job and shelter, their kids have gone to school with
our kids, grown together, many of them have illegally married
to Iranians, they have now Irano-Afghani kids facing problems
for staying here or going back to Afghanistan.
They intend to stay here because of better job opportunities
and much better education and social conditions for girls- what
I am astonished for, as I know social conditions is terrible
for females even after recent abrupt political transition.
I'm planned to visit Herat and some Afghan villages in may, so
the next series will be posted then.
You may find some useful information about Afghanistan which
is added to the SET.
