purple inchworm on the plant

Found today in Northern New Jersey. No idea what it is. Really want to know. Anyone? I found it in a bunch of these flowers. Took a while to see it.

ID by J Gilbert. It is the caterpillar of the wavy-line emerald moth, or the Camouflaged Looper, or synchlora aerata. It has attached pieces of the flower to it's back. Cooool!
