Armstrong & Conner Blacksmiths, Ridgeville, Indiana section 3

1908 postcard view of the Armstrong & Conner Blacksmith shop in Ridgeville, Indiana. The gentlemen in the view aren't identified, but one of them is probably Robert Conner who is identified in the 1900 census as a blacksmith. There is no Armstrong identified as a blacksmith in the Ridgeville census data for that period. The guy on the right is holding a handsaw.

There are advertisements on the doors for Sloan's Liniment, Sure Shot Gall Cure, and Kitchel's Liniment (cures rheumatism). There are also sale bills from October 1908 posted on the doors. One public sale bill has the name of George F. Orcutt at the bottom. He was an implements dealer in Ridgeville.

Below that sale bill is an announcement for F. S. Caldwell who was to speak at Ridgeville. Caldwell was the principal and then superintendent at Winchester. Later, he became an appellate judge.

From a private collection.
