Holes punched through with the awl and a hammer, after lighter reference holes were dented in.

Reference lines etched with an awl. The vertical lines represent the start of a new measure, while the horizontal lines represent two tines (one on the line, one on the space between). Later, I etched in the quarter notes, to make things more useful. Each quarter note was 3/32" apart.
