Me, Bike, Large Boat (014)

Blue shirt from REI
Mantis knickers by Prana
ReCyclist cap by Shaun Deller
Shoes by Sidi...one of the few cases that cycling shoes improve an outfit! These remind me of Tintin feet in this photo (and with these pants).
Some wool baselayers that you can't see.
Vintage spectacles from Phoenix in Berkeley CA
Vintage lugged-steel Trek 510, Honjo aluminum fenders, Brooks B17 saddle.

The challenge of dressing well as a cyclist is that clothes are hard to find that fit well and breathe easy, and still look good! Though in the winter, we do well with vintage woolens.

The bonus to dressing well as a cyclist is that your bike is the world's most useful fashion accessory.

for b_w_r: we were in seattle on a visit. We took the train up with our bikes. here we were making our way slowly and scenically from the train station to Ballard.

ps this was my first wardrobe remix post!

Ha! Tintin feet! Yes! I actually have a Tintin comforter on my bed right now.

    Prana is amazing.

    Excellent glasses.

And finally, gorgeous bike and brooks saddle.

    Thanks!

I like a lot of Prana-wear but nothing I've tried fits me right, except these knicks.

I forgot to mention, the ReCyclist cap is handsewn from thrifted garments by a local designer. Mine is eight-panel, made from an army shirt and one dark panel from a navy coat, all wool. I just added a link to the Deller web site if anyone's interested.

like the length of the pants as well as the navy/orange-ish color combo. shoes are nice, too!

I really like the length of your trousers too. Very fresh.

Love the photo, and (as you said) bike = best accessory ever

i like "comrade chic" -- i think that the way I'm looking off into the distance, all constructivist-like, probably lends itself to such interpretation.

    thanks all!

Wow, what an ass! I'll leave this guy's sneering comment up for a little while so others can enjoy it. Always interesting when people like this are mean and dismissive, yet have no photos of their own to share. Not self-obsessed enough, I guess, eh, "geordan"?

yeah. i read his coment yeaterday and was sort of "...!".
didn't tolstoy say a life unexamined is not worth living? i betcha he'd be well keen on the simple drama and beauty of someone else's perspective.
unless that someone else was a sour old puss like geodanh.

just so weird that someone who dislikes people taking pictures of themselves would even be able to stand looking at flickr for more than about ten seconds.
