99 blue balloons....
This shot taken for Active Assignment Weekly's "Flow of Air" assignment.
The assignment: " Flow of Air".
But,we can't see it !! How are you going to photograph it? You show us the path :))
Dare: Can you please include the color BLUE in the pic ... I love the colour so much !!
Restriction: No people please.
WIT: I found this assignment pretty tough! I had another shot which I prefer but when I went to submit it, realised it doesn't meet the restrictions. Then when I was out to photograph the Seoul International Marathon, I saw these blue balloons. They released them as the race started and they floated away into the sky. So this is my submission for the week.

Looks like we both got caught on that assignment restriction.
Both your first shot and this one are quite good; although both very different. The balloons in this one are almost surreal.

Man, someone has been lucky, he? They are even blue.

Lucky find! The tight cluster of balloons almost resemble liquid droplets when viewed in the thumbnail size.
The dark blue of the balloons against the paler blue sky works well, as does the tilt of the building. If anything, I would like to see the exposure on the balloons upped a bit - but that's just me :)
Side note: In our area it is now considered an environmental no-no to release balloons - it seems that seagulls and other critters end up choking on them (once they're deflated I assume) . They still release doves at weddings and such - wonder who chokes on those :)

Wow, this really captures the assignment to a tee!

voted this "BestOfWeek1" (from Active Assignment Weekly group). This captures movement of air perfectly and you met the "blue" challange head on.

This is a really nice shot. I like the clarity of the balloons...they must have been raining right down on your head.

The "blue" dare really was made for this picture.
I vote this "BestofWeek3".(tag from "samkayla" is missing)

The contrast between the almost organic shape of the baloons and the rigid lines of the building works really well and adds interest to the picture. And as people has already said, it definitely ticks the "blue" box!

Wow, looks very surreal! Almost like a scene from an animated movie...
What a sight, wish I had been there... :-) Love it!

Thanks all for comments and votes! This was indeed a lucky find. Living in a city like Seoul where there are always things happening is great for photography.
@Helle V - I think you're right, it would have been better had the balloons been a little brighter. Unfortunately the skies here at the moment are full of yellow dust (sand and pollutants blown across from China's Gobi desert) which makes it very easy to end up with over-blown skies in photos. I'm usually too lazy to fix such skies via image processing, so have to under-expose some images instead.
As for the environment issue of the balloons....sadly, environmental concerns are not yet widespread in Korea. This is despite a generally poor environment and issues like the yellow dust pollution as described above. (There is a webpage you use to check on pollution levels here. On the day of the marathon when this photo was taken, the level of junk in the air was at ~250 micrograms per cubic metre - a level rated as "Unhealthy", where they discourage outdoor exercise. Ick.) So a few balloons in the air are the least of their problems...

haha Thanks Piggley....but this was entered in last week's AAW (Airflow). I guess the Airflow theme could be related to Newton's Laws.....but this was shot in the wrong timeframe anyway. (Due to illness and travel, I haven't entered this week.)

Thank you again for taking this lovely photo, and allowing me to use it :) At the time of this post a part of it is the website banner for my press (as seen here: wordparade.org). Keep up the good work.
