I asked to have the refrigerator moved over to the left (and a new closet space added in the bedroom behind it). This allowed room for a pantry. A real pantry! With a door! Right now our pantry is this awful little shelf that disappears deep into the corner of our cabinets at our rental house. I can barely reach to the back of it and have to guess at what I'm touching.

super thrilled over here. the new wood floors are down and will be stained to match after they put in the cabinets this week. we ended up with custom cabinets because that was cheaper than stock, surprisingly. can. not. wait.

should all be done by the middle/end of february. it already feels so much more bright and open.

i would like to go back to jamaica, i think, if we ever get back to the caribbean. the water and beaches all looked heavenly even though we didn't get in this day. and it's a lot cheaper than the cayman islands. i know the crime is a problem but, from what others told us, there are plenty of safe resorts away from the more touristy areas like where the boats dump you out. someday.
