A house in my nabourhood.
This photo is made out of 3 photos. BC I don't have any lense for my DSLR (yet!) I used my point and shoot camera (Nikon CoolPix L5)! I was amazed how well It worked!
#1: take a normal picture of the house
#2: aim for the sun, setting the focus and WB, then shoot the same spot as before!
#3: turn around, away from the sun, find a shadow and set focus on the shadow. Now go back, and shoot the same picture again.
Wupti! Now you have 3 different exposures, with a point and shoot camera!
Bc you have to turn away, and move the camera around you won't get the
same perspective every time.
Just open the photos in photoshop, add them all to one picture, as different layers, then select all layers --> Edit --> auto-alain layers. When they are alained, just crop 'em.
Then just save 'em one and one as .TIF, and open in Photomatix or whatever you use!
And there you have it! A Point and Shoot, jpeg HDR!
So if you foret your DSLR, broke it, or run out of battery, there is no need for NOT taking HDR images on your trip!
