Lower Condurrow

Lower Condurrow

Winter Sun reflects off a heavy frost on the Great Flat Lode - Grenville Mines - Lower Condurrow - Cornwall.

Not posted for a long while - this is from Dec 2010 - taken on The Great Flat Lode, Lower Condurrow, Troon, Cornwall. Part of the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site.

The Great Flat Lode is so named because the lode was remarkably flat and not steeply inclined like so many other mineral seams.

I thought I would have a play at a Black and White conversion from the Digilux 3 RAW file.

Pl. Lovignon, Quimperle, Brittany

Pl. Lovignon, Quimperle, Brittany

I have been using a digital camera for nearly ten years. This was one of the images that encouraged me to cross over from film.

The camera was a freebie with a computer and was of very limited technology. HP Photosmart 318, point and shoot but only when it decided to cooperate.

In order to get a reasonable result one had to trick the camera into giving the correct exposure and point of focus by holding the shutter release half way down when the image in the viewfinder looked right.

Early photographs of Quimperle are to be found at the following link, click on Photos anciennes - the first image is of these steps taken from the bridge in the background: www.quimperletourisme.com/index.php?page=album&cat=de...
