sanguino_breakout

This is a breakout 'shield' for the Sanguino that breaks out all the pins into handy screw terminals. You can either build a Sanguino in-place on the board, or plug your existing Sanguino into it.

Surface mount stuff has been around for years and it's MUCH easier to solder. There is a lot less chance of a dry joint (most common mistake made be people learning to solder) and you don't have to keep flipping the board which leads to more mistakes during assembly.

Actually, a Surface Mount option would be great, seeing as how I'm trying to learn, and would much rather enjoy the minimalisticness of SM. That said, I'm ordering the parts for this tonight. :)
