Pilot Mountain, North Carolina Nearby a town called Mount Airy (home of the fried pork chop sandwich) in which the Andy Griffith Show was set, known as Mayberry on the show. There's not really a clearly defined line between reality and fiction, there, even the newspaper bears the name Mayberry.
