So there we are after the Manila Flickr Party, hanging out with some Filipinos. The conversation turned to Balut, and before we know it, there they were on the table.
Yes, I ate it. It's actually not that bad at all - it tastes... ducky. The one downside was the bottom of the egg which, for some reason, had turned completely hard and flibrous and was just unpleasantly chalky/chewy all at once.
There was one left over (Ingrid wouldn't eat hers), which one of our hosts proceeded to dissect for our education.
I think he was secretly disappointed that Manny and I ate them and then refused to feel nauseous.
I'm probably going to hell for this.
