Sunflower Window on display at Botanica, The Wichita Gardens. It was designed in 1915 by Elizabeth Stubblefield Navas for the Wichita Carnegie Library. Navas was commissioned by Louise Caldwell Murdock (along with Navas, Murdock was influential in the creation of the Wichita Art Museum) to create the windows. Navas designed 12 windows to fill the library rotunda. In 1967 the fate of the windows came into question when the current library was built across the street and the old library was being remodeled into the Municipal Courts Building. The Kansas Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) asked to buy the windows for the chapels in Washington D.C. The 12 windows went to several organizations including the Soroptimist International of Wichita, the YWCA, the Wichita Art Association, and the Wichita Historical Museum. In 1989 the Soroptimist gave their window to Botanica, The Wichita Gardens.

The first lighting of the window at Botanica was in honor of Olive Ann Beech, co-founder of Beech Aircraft Corporation. Beech had been a member of the Soroptimists for more than 50 years.

Orpheum Theatre ad for "Flight." From January 26, 1930 Wichita Beacon. The movie shown in Wichita 5 months after its USA premiere. It was directed by Frank Capra, legendary director of "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington" and "It's a Wonderful Life."
