God it's like this is still almost surreal. I still have trouble grasping that it actually happened.

Thanks for sharing.

It feels weird to call this a fave because I certainly don't like what's happening in the picture, but it's so effective. I'm glad you've posted these shots; it's so, so important to never forget.

Each time I see these images, it is like the first time. Thank you for posting them. I was in Boston, so somehow this seems even more "real" than the televeision and other shots we've all seen and took my breath away when I opened your photostream...

J. Star, I know what you mean. As I'm going through I saw a few shots I wanted to fave, but it just feels wrong somehow. I'm undecided. *Hiro this is all beautiful work, whether I decide to fave them or not.

Did you ever, ever think you would evacuate your city, your home as you watched it be enveloped in smoke? I still can't believe this happened as well. I used to live in NYC and went up to the Trade Center observatory. The buildings were so huge it's incomprehensible. I couldn't bring myself to go back to NYC until 2004. Incredible shots, as are they all.

Thank you all... I am glad you all found some meaning in my experience, as I hope to share with as many people as possible. It feels like my obligation to do so. It was like I was supposed to be there, to tell the tale. I woke up and grabbed my camera, without any thought that morning (I never had before) and found myself in the middle of all of it.

I understand how it feels odd to call any such image "favorite" - If you take something from it all, and can share with others, that's what matters most to me.

Thank you for taking the time to go through it with me.

I don't even know how to explain my thoughts on this picture.
It is truly hard for me to speak about 9/11 even now 7 years later. I was in the 3rd grade when this happened. Ever since then I have decided I will serve my country after High school and join the Army.

This picture is so powerful, so surreal.

Rev. Xanatos Satanicos Bombasticos (ClintJCL)  Pro User  says:

littled1993: You do realize that Iraq had zero to do with 911, and the attackers came from Saudi Arabia, yet we attacked Afghanistan (and still have not won; we've mostly lost -- prepare for a huge surge, and they're now the world producer of heroin, even Hamid Karzai's brother is involved!) and Iraq (who had no weapons of destruction, Rumsfeld has admitted).

So you're mislead. People died, and now you're going to join in the killing of more people. Not even the people who were involved.

Defending your country is great, but that's not at all what our army is currently doing. Iraq didn't attack us. Afghanistan itself didn't attack us, but Bin Laden hung out there. The hijackers were 90% Saudi Arabia, born and bred there.

But we don't attack oil interests (Saudi Arabia). Unless they are taking the oil away from us (Iraq).
