Bahamas Mission '09 |
A Daily Chronicle of our Mission to the
island of Eleuthera, Bahamas.
Monday's report: at 7am eastern time,
our Senior High Missions group began
their day with breakfast, at
corresponding 6am our Junior Highers set
out for Camp Lookout for their week of
missions. Today began work days for the
Bahamas teams. Dispersed by some midday
rain and thundershowers groups were into
all kinds of work from demolition,
painting, tile work, and more. We capped
the afternoon with a trip to Rainbow Bay
beach which was rather bright and blue,
but also rather salty. Before dinner our
team explored the world of harvesting
coconuts and eating the fruits of their
labors. Needless to say, we would make
very bad cavemen (just imagine teens
without tools & a large hard ball
shaped item). The Camp Lookout team
spent the day getting to know their
other fellow campers, breaking into work
teams and doing initiative/team building
games. Other than an area of the world
being inhabited by around 100 middle
schoolers, a scary prospect indeed, I
have a good report that all is well at
Camp Lookout.
We've uploaded some more photos &
videos from the Bahamas trip. urlzen.com/jjz Camp Lookout does not have as good an
internet hook up that we surprisingly
have here in the Bahamas, so we may have
to wait till later on some of those
sights.
Thanks for supporting youth missions by
your prayers, presence, gifts, and
witness!
