Bob's Big Boy.

Bob's Big Boy. by Here in Van Nuys.
Who cannot love the squarish typefaces and the long rectangular frame with the large red circle advertising "Bob's"?

What the Eiffel Tower is to Paris, and the Empire State Building is to NY, this restaurant is to Burbank.

Damn straight this is our Eiffel Tower... for our sins. ;-)

The Canoga Park Bob's was "our" Bob's, but this one does in a pinch, and a pinch it is, this the last. I've been craving a Big Boy combo for a month now... it's time to go get one this Saturday.

Brilliant catch of the neon at dusk.

Nicely lit, the neon is just right and I like the angle. Very iconic.

Reminds me of the style of signs exemplified by the old Van de Camps coffee shop in Van Nuys.

Iconic California. In Detroit the Big Boy franchisee is Elias Brothers. They make extensive use of the "boy" figure in their signage.

When my mother was in a care facility in Norwalk, we'd go to the Bob's Big Boy nearby after visiting her. They had the greatest buffet lunch I ever ate.
