The Milky Way is sometimes described as "a river of stars". In this picture, it looks as if a boat would be ready for a ride on that river of stars. In fact, the boat floats in a small alpine lake in the nature park Grebenzen-Zirbitzkogel (Styria, Austria). The milky way stretches across the dark sky over the lake, and you can even see the reflection of the milky way on the surface of the lake.
Singe exposure of 60 seconds with Canon EOS 550D at ISO 3200, 10mm fisheye lens, f/2.8. Tracked with the Vixen Polarie star tracker.
