rent-a-bike

crop suggestions from bigempty, must have deleted it by accident, don't even remember doing it

the bikes in the front are from our rail company and can be rented on the spot. you'll find them quite a lot in berlin, especially in touristy areas which i guess is the main target audience. they can be quite useful if you're stuck somewhere in the middle of the night or want to get somewhere fast and public transportation just won't cut it.

i prefer my own bike, though

i think it has to much depth of focus but it is still very nice. i prefer my own bike too, and will never understand, why the put two buildings to teh left and right of the brandenburger gate. it lokks really shitty!

agree that the Polizei sign is a nice detail. But it's not pronounced enough to carry the photo on its own. I'm seing

- a gate lit at night
- some bikes
- some light trails

What I'm not getting is why they should all hang together in one picture. Plus the image looks a bit lop-sided and distorted for no good reason

..I think all the different kinds of lights compete with each other. I realize the point was to capture the light left by a passing car, but the light competition makes me wish I could see the missing car as a sort of a grounding for the viewer.

Yeah - I agree with just about everything above. Bikes are calling to me, but the brightness of the Brandenburger Tor is overpowering. It's a good shot, just not enough to make the cut.
