barack obama in berlin

i was too late to get any close — a huge crowd turned up. (the weather did its share!)

anyway, i had mixed feelings about the speech (*cough*afghanistan*cough*), but i realize that i wasn't really part of the intended audience. still, i'd like to see him get elected.

edit: or rather, he had two audiences -- berlin/europe, but also across the atlantic. hard to bridge that divide, sometimes

fredcan, I believe a lot of people were there just out of curiosity. To check him out if he is in town and takes time to talk to us. Also, there were lot's of tourists there.

I myself was curious, but I realize that I was used by his campaign in a media event. I'm fine with that, actually.

yes, reamon and patrice decided to support obama on short notice and played while the crowd was gathering.

that was quite nice, as i was using the time to study in the nearby tiergarten and the music was audible, but so far away that it wasn't distracting.
