Inhotim is a continuously evolving place where contemporary art exists in uniquely intimate relationship with nature. The contemporary art center is an institution committed to the education and cultural development of the community. Located in the municipality of Brumadinho, in Minas Gerais, Inhotim occupies an area of 87 acres of beautiful gardens – a part created by renowned landscape architect Roberto Burle Marx – which hold a comprehensive living library of tropical plant species, in addition to a remarkable collection of contemporary art. By moving beyond the clear spatial and architectural limitations of conventional museums and sculpture parks, Inhotim offers artists the opportunity to dream and produce complex, innovative pieces.
