I filtered the milk liqueur last night, a day early, and it is really, really good. I don't know what I expected, but since I tried it for the first time at 9 am, preparing to post this photo, I steeled myself for something harsh, but it is sweet and smooth and fragrant and delicious. I highly recommend it. Here's the recipe.
Minty, it's chocolatey, for sure.
I used Smirnoff (red label) and Ghirardelli 70% cacao, so nothing fancy. It was filtered first through a fine sieve, then though doubled coffee filters that I replaced as they became clogged. I filtered it again as I bottled it, but I don't think that clarified it further.
Here's a recipe for another milk liqueur that's flavored with orange and vanilla. I think the chocolate one I made would be lovely with orange, too.
