The marbled colors of the tangyuan tells the (painful) history of the Nanjing Massacre. After that war, the stones of the Nanjing River became permanently stained or marbled with blood since.

 

Talking about the tangyuan itself, the texture and sweetness is perfect. Not too dense and perfect ratio of filling to the rice dough.
