  • I hate bean sprouts so I just toss them to the side..and I don't even feel guilty about wasting food. Usually I tell them but these were pre-made...they just added the rice.
  • teachers/adults get the big bowl when we get things like this...sometimes we get the big bowl for soups...like pork bone/potato soup...funny thing is the kids are the same size as me..some of them are.
  • i love bean sprouts korean way :P give them all to me hehe - koe2moe
  • Koe2Moe...they're ALL yours! =) I can only eat fresh ones. =) (but only with pho =)
  • really? hehe. I've never seen them until I got to Korea.
  • yup. I won't even try to spell it so I just say bean paste soup. hehe. but this is just a really plain simple version of it. later it got better.
  • emmmm...maybe the one starting with the "G" =) and YES, Korea kids eat spicy food..it's their culture. BUT some...few kids can't! one boy in Kindergarten can't ..it's funny when he accidently eat something spicy. he starts freaking...it's SO cute because he's so tiny...like 2 feet tall.

School Lunch in Korea

Newer Older

bibimbap = rice with a bunch of vegiies...and sometimes some eggs and or meat. that red stuff is sweet and somewhat spicy sauce..not spicy enough for me so I don't use it. I don't like mixing my rice with everything..I like my rice plain. that way I can taste the rice not the sauce. The soup is a bean paste soup base soup..with tofu, diakon or something similar to it and some green onions. sometimes they put meat in it..not sure about this one. It's not bad. that nasty looking thing in the back left is actually really good...just plain yogurt and sliced fruits. yummy. and that tiny bottle is a yogurt drink. Overall this lunch is/was good but most of the time the lunch is very good or very very good. A few days after this lunch I had a wonderful lunch...but of course I freaking forgot to bring my camera. Maybe I'll bring take another one tomorrow since I don't have a class before lunch.

Lunch in Korea is SO much better than in America!!! And it's only about 30 bucks a month !

No nasty sloppy joes! No greasy pizza ! No raw broccoli (hated them as kids but I'm okay with them now).

The photos are taken in Buseok Elementary School/Buseok English Center.

The lunch lady makes a killer potato soup...more like pork bone soup....so yummy! I'll try to get a photo of it one of these days.

Thanks for stopping by! =) For MORE photos from other people please go to the School Lunch in Korea Pool...which is small right now but still good.
