Making me reflect,
This pool of water,
In my autumn years
Still life,
Stilling life,
Life still
Before it plunges me
Into my winter years

We waved at life from the top of our tree,
Now we're cast adrift,
Just the two of us,
While all around stagnates underfoot

Gateway from a gravel path leading us to view the fields,
Pale sky turning from Autumn into Winter,
With just a few lonely sheep for company.

Bridge over depths beyond stretching towards an imposing house,
No longer lived in but a Gallery of Art,
Sitting among rolling countryside.
Bridge covering depths of water concealing fish,
Hiding amongst reeds and under water lillies in the Summer,
Now faded,
But still fishermen sit along the bank hoping for sport,
As the fish swim deeper for warmth,
And Autumn turns to Winter
