On the drovers route on Salkeld Dykes - where in centuries gone by the drovers of cattle and sheep on their long treks to market would stop to water their beasts.

I loved the look of the water under the dead reeds and the red fiery Dog Wood under the trees.

Would you believe it.... an hour or two after I sent my Big Garden Birdwatch results in, and after literally YEARS of waiting for them to visit our garden, SEVEN Long Tailed Tits arrived - and are still here. It was their sweet tweeting I heard first and then whoosh - there they were just outside the window. Its made my day!

To get the shot I crept on my knees across the lounge floor and in slow motion reached for my camera only for Rosie Posie Poodle to jump up beside me and scare them off. So, I sat on a chair right at the window; staying completely still for 15 mins with the focus set for the feeder they had visited, and back they came.....

I love this image of Hector walking out of the woods onto the lane. Though he has now made me feel guilty because when I processed this version of the image I cloned out our lovely dog Rosie. He has teased me about it today, but I stick to my idea that this version is right with just him as the main subject.
