We were not speeding either; getting a ticket on a trip is a total buzz kill. Bloody intrigued by tunnels since I was a youngun. I doubt it purely because that old proverb is ingrained my mind: "There is light in the end of the tunnel". I just find tunnels unreal, unusual, and, more importantly, probably more appriciative of them because they are just damn rare. Driving threw them is a 'proper trip', even more spectacular when driving into one during the night. (All this fuss and ruckus over a tunnel?) Quotes: (Why is it that I want to put only one here, but end up with bloody three or four?:) “Carve a tunnel of hope through the dark mountain of disappointment.” -Martin Luther King, Jr “Will our life not be a tunnel between two vague clarities? Or will it not be a clarity between two dark triangles?” -Pablo Neruda “Politicians are people who, when they see light at the end of the tunnel, go out and buy some more tunnel." -John Quinton:) Author unknown for title quote.
