Darmatographs

An affordance to reveal more pencil. Feels like a bomb wick to me.
Darmatographs by hawkexpress.
I have used yellow and red darmato for reading. But the red is too strong. I tried other colors this time.

2008.05.26 post as "Analog Devices" example.

Thanks :)

Mine is Canon PowerShot SD 300 (a.k.a. IXY Digital 50). Not professional but I like it's compactness.

i just use a pen to make notes in books while reading... i've realized over time that any highlighting whatsoever just distracts me and makes my eyes jump around.

I remember these from my childhood. Black or red were used in my father's Chinese medicine shop to mark prices on glass or plastic surfaces. In those days, permanent markers were not so common.

The pen seems called "china marker" in U.S. Perhaps the name comes from to write on "china (glass)". :)

Regarding the red wax pen - I've never seen the other colors, but we have trabillions of these red ones floating around. They're invaluable to mark up XRAYs after printing; they don't damage the film, and can be wiped off if the annotation needs to be re-done. They also show up well against black-and-white.
