The Wall, Qalandiya Camp Checkpoint
It looks as though this guard tower has been hit with a Molotov cocktail or something. On my way back to Jerusalem from Ramallah today, we were detained at the checkpoint for about 30 minutes. Everyone who was on the bus that was under 50 or did not have small children had to get off, walk through the pedestrian checkpoint, and wait in the sun for the bus, and the elderly, very young, and foreign passengers to get through.
The wall LOOKS terrible and IS awful, but the checkpoints are horribly disruptive of Palestinian life, economics, education, visits to hospitals and doctors, and the like.
