So... Funny Story....Walt Whitman Bridge
![]() I am driving out of Philly and the sky is beautiful. As I get to the overpass from 676 to 130/168, I can't take it anymore and I pull over to the shoulder to get out and take some photos.
This photo has notes. Move your mouse over the photo to see them.
I get off two shots and realize the camera is in B&W. As I go to switch over to color, a cop pulls up, lights on and all. I realize it is "emergency stopping only" and figure he's come to shake his head at me. He pulls up and I wave, point to my camera, make a dopey face and go to get back in my car. That is when I notice my keys are still in the ignition - and all the doors are locked. Oh yeah, and the car is still running!!! So I wave back at the cop that I am locked out and now there is even a second cop car! They can't unlock me (due to frivilous lawsuits) so I call GEICO. They tell me it will be an hour and the cop tells me he can't let me stay there with the car. He will take me to the station to wait - but I don't want to leave my running car, with the keys in it, just sitting there for the taking! So then a THIRD cop car shows up (their substation is at the bottom of the ramp), and my main cop calls their tow truck guys who say they can be there in 10 minutes. GEICO says I can send them the bill. Awesome. So then me and my cop chat for 10-15 minutes until the tow truck guy shows up. It takes that guy 20 seconds with a piece of flimsy plastic to get the door open, and then I have to pay $75 out of pocket. All because I wanted to take a photo, which I did not even get. I did take this one though (and the next one). I missed the sunset over the Walt Whitman Bridge span. So yeah. That's my story. Yup. Commentsphilliefan99
