"Zodiacal Time" Astro Self Portrait

"Zodiacal Time" Astro Self Portrait

I combined my love of astrophotography and watches to create this astro-self portrait. This is something I've been wanting to do for a while.

The triangular glow on the horizon is the Zodiacal light. Zodiacal light is produced by sunlight reflecting off dust particles in the solar system known as cosmic dust.

The green glow on my wrist is the lume from a Rolex Submariner. In order to get the glow I shined a flashlight on the watch before each shot to charge the luminescent dials.

Shot with a Nikon D4 & Nikkor 14-24mm F2.8 lens.
30 second exposures, ISO 3200, WB 4000K

Thanks for looking!
