2012年も、HI-GO & ERA RAVE20周年！！！

あれ？ 2011年じゃなかったの？とお思いの方もいらっしゃるでしょうが、RAVE初体験が1991年でDJ&PARTY活動開始が1992年なので、2012年も20周年企画は続きます。ええ、なにぶん個人的なメモリアルですから。

現在、DipAura、1968、ウェストサイド物語などをオーガナイズしているHI-GO & ERAのバカ夫婦が、なんの因果かロンドンでRAVE初体験をしたのが1991年の12月。日本に戻ってからもその熱は冷めることなく、同じ熱にうかされていたDJ FORCEらと出会い、初めてのパーティ"WATER"を立ち上げたのが1992年5月のこと。それからというもの、飽きも懲りもせず続けてきましたパーティ人生20年。「まだ」か「もう」かは別として、自分たちを自分たちで祝ってしまおうと思います。

2012年の第一弾は、DipAura！ 〜 Totem Pole Consensus

DipAuraは1997年にスタートし、今回で89回目を迎えるメキヒゴン主軸パーティ。平日だろうが客入りが悪かろうが、踊るったら踊るんだ！という気概に満ちたこのパーティは、ヒゴエラのHARDCORE RAVE体験〜WATERの流れを汲むもの。これまで実に多くのDJ、VJ、ペインターを始めとする多種多様なアーティスト、そしてフロアに集う人々によって支えられ、至る、現在。

今回、ライヴで参加してくれるDUB SQUADの3人は、WATERスタート時からのお付き合い。なんと当時はスタッフとして関わってくれていたという…。その後も幾度となくライヴやDJで場を共有してきた音仲間。ここ数年活動休止状態だった彼らのライヴ活動再開を聞きつけ、それならDipAuraで是非！ということになりました。そう、彼らの復活はヒゴエラにとって祝うべき、本当に嬉しい出来事なのです。

DJ陣もヒゴエラがこの20年で様々な場所で出逢った頼もしい顔ぶれが揃っています。時間軸はかる〜く越えて、ね。そして15年目を迎えるDipAuraを長きに渡り楽しい遊び場にしてくれてきた仲間たちも、愉快なお店やサプライズを用意してくれるでしょう。

パーティを続けるということは、人と出会い続けるということ。
人の動きは星の動きにも似て、時に離れ、また接近遭遇を繰り返します。軌道は実にそれぞれ。

だからこそ、集まり踊るその瞬間、その空間を祝いたい。偶然も運命も、すべてひっくるめて。
この20年に出逢ったすべての人々に感謝を捧げる、そんな2012年のDipAuraです。

This is the making of the Phonotrope that comprised the title sequence The title sequence shown here is from the rough cut and changed a bit in the final film but for the purposes of seeing the whole Phonotrope I have used the rough cut.

I can't thank everyone that helped make this enough, from Ben who created an amazing tool for me to use, Gordon and Gee (and Jo) who created the structure, to Matt and Elizabeth (and Toby) who helped make it look so good to Sophie for being my third and fourth hands (and Dom and Carmen briefly) and Ewen for being an utter star with his laser.

Especially to Luke and Claire at Nexus Productions too, and especially to Claire for all the nonsense I put her through asking her to find laser cutters.
