At Greene Valley Forest Preserve. Hoping to see an owl when I saw some movement in this hollowed out tree. Waited quite a while and some heads started popping out.

Very low light. ISO 1600, 1/30 second, 600mm, monopod, cropped quite a bit.

OH MY GOODNESS !!! This is an INSTANT FAVE. This is so adorable, I'm speechless. I've never seen THREE sticking their heads out of a tree cavity at the same time like this. It really paid off to wait for them to do this. You are very observant too. I can't believe this is shot at ISO 1600. It doesn't look "noisy" at all. You certainly wasn't "handholding" this 600mm at 1/30?? This is the BEST picture I've seen so far this month. BRAVO.

Room for one more? Barely any noise in the shadows--great for 1600! Might want to go back with a bit more light and snap a few hundred of these characters because they look like they put on a nifty show! You won't find 3 owls putting on this kind of act! Wow!
