Excuse the mess - Hannah has spent the arvo playing on that side of the studio while I was working.

My poor baby boy broke his leg. He spent over 5 weeks in this awful cast (in which he was unable to even sit up), and another 3 weeks unable to walk. He had to stop daycare, because he was too hard for them to care for in the cast.

As a result I had to drop everything, and become his full time carer. Working was out of the question.

To add to the mix, my dear husband has changed jobs in the last couple of weeks. This means less stress, but longer hours for less money. So coming out of a couple of months of not working (with bills still coming, as they are want to do), I suddenly need to ramp up business, with no money to do it with.

So we made the decision to dedicate the front room to being a studio, which is fairly straight forward, so long as I am happy for it to be rather empty until I can save up enough to fit it out properly with props and equipment.

Which is the very long winded way of saying I need a SHOOT BABY! Ottoman beanbag because... I have a new studio to set up, and no money to do it with.

I really do love Toby more than I ever imagines possible... But I am so over everything we have been through with him this year.

So this is his third time in hospital this year - first as a day patient for eye surgery, second for his broken leg, and now this for asthma. On top of that he has also had another 3 ED trips (once for gastro/dehydration and twice for cast related issues) and two outpatients appointments for the broken leg.

I also have a referal I to get blood tests done for his paed that I am yet to have an opportunity to sort out. On top of that we have a specialist appointment on Friday to have hannah looked at for auditory processing issues.

Toby has had 2 hours in crèche in the last 2+ months. And even then I was on call the whole time because they were not willing to change his nappy while in the cast. After that I decided it was a waste of money to send him there when I was not free to make use of the time.

So anyway, I am having a bit of a pity party here. Just when I felt like I was getting life back again, Toby was walking again (as of yesterday), on a huge high after the APPAs, I have Toby sick again.

In this clip he had had 3 lots of 6 puffs of ventolin over an hour, then another 3 x 6 puffs over the next 3 hours, so he was much improved. They now just want to get him spaced out to 4 hours between doses (he was at 2 last I heard - I am home for the night while Stuart stays at the hospital).
