11/365 (or "The Poor Woman's Bollywood.")Love the lips. beautiful bindi ![]() My hands are distracting in this photo, but at the same time I don't think I would like it without my hands in it. I like it for the fact that it looks like I'm either trying to cover my face or I could be trying to uncover it. You never know!

I finally used my D70 for a self-portrait. This is cropped (because of my messy room) and was focused manually by guessing where I would end up being when I went to pose. (One of the few actually in focus, of course.) The "nose" ring is actually a dolphin shaped earring and connected to it like a traditional nath is a payal (anklet) with bells on it that make a gorgeous sound that I got at the Christkindlmarket in downtown Chicago for Christmas--the payal is from Morocco. The head covering is a sarong from India I bought at Cost Plus World Market and I wear it most often during the winter as a religious head covering when I attend church (sadly I haven't been able to go since October because of my job, and no, I'm obviously not Hindu nor Muslim, I'm actually Evangelical. And yes, wearing a head covering to a Christian church when you aren't a Mennonite or Amish freaks people out). The bindi is also from India that I got when I ordered a nose ring from India through eBay. I wish I could find a real nath online, but it's impossible unless I buy a traditional Indian bridal set--and they're $200 and up. Commentscarmen maria
