52.15 - you are my sunshine![]() I had no idea what I wanted to do when I took the dogs outside in the backyard after I got home early from work. I don't have to work until Tuesday afternoon! This is my first Saturday off in a year!
But the light was inspiring. I sat in the grass. The weather was beautiful. The sunlight in my backyard at sunset is magical. The dogs are not at all pleased with me at the moment because we didn't go for a walk today. The funny part is that they've gone for a lot of walks in the last month and a half. Before it was a miracle to walk them once a month. There were always excuses and extenuating circumstances. But now those are out the window. We don't go for time, we go for distance. Before I could make a few blocks stretch into 40 minutes. Now I'm capable of walking the pack 2 or 3 miles in an hour. All of the dogs are physically fit--I keep them skinny on purpose--especially Judah because she has very bad joints. I, however, am fat. They are a big motivation for me. If I don't feel like working out, I still need to find the chance to take them on a walk because they deserve it. (Plus have you ever tried living with three dogs--let alone three BORED dogs?? it's any wonder I can keep my sanity. And thankfully I love spending time with them as much as they do with me.) Judah actually starts panting at the pace that I walk now. Today there was no time for a walk and so I'm getting the attitude from them--especially Judah. She's the worst. There she is squeaking the taco toy at me, tapping my arm as I sit here, letting me know that it's unacceptable to keep them cooped up in the house when there are trails to blaze. Little do they know mama's home for the next three days!! Commentssure2talk

This is extremely well done. I love the lighting, shallow dof, framing, but mostly the expression on the dog's face.

As for your story, I totally understand about the walk thing. I take my two boyz on a run on my days off. They really look forward to it. We run 2 miles per day. Just like you said, they are my motivation, if I don't feel like running, I look and them and know I'm letting them down if I don't. I work 12hr shifts at a hospital and have 3-6 days off in a row, are you a hospital worker too?
