Heath Fire, Woon Gumpus Common, Cornwall [1]
A Heath Fire burning on Woon Gumpus Common, near Pendeen, Cornwall. Arsonists may have started the fire which burnt about 15 hectares of the common. The vegetation here mostly consists of Heather, Gorse, Brambles and Grasses (Bracken not growing yet).
The local Fire Service let the fire burn to natural breaks rather than try to fight it, although I think some cars in a carpark needed spraying with water to keep them cool as the fire burned close to them.
